A 17-Year-Old Female Pro Golfer Posts a YouTube Video Asking Military Guys to Take Her to Prom!

Remember last year when military personnel would post YouTube videos asking celebrities to their military balls? A female pro golfer just flipped that around. 17-year-old LEXI THOMPSON, who won the 2011 Navistar LPGA Classic tournament, posted a YouTube video asking members of the U.S. military to volunteer to take her to her high school prom. She says, quote, "For my date, I am looking for somebody special and that I respect, that's why I am choosing a guy from the service." She's wants servicemen between the ages of 18 and 20 to upload a photo to her Facebook fan page and tell her why she should go to prom with them. You have to "Like" her on Facebook to enter. Her sponsors will pay to fly whomever wins to the prom, which is in Coral Springs, Florida on May 18th.

 Here's Lexi's Facebook Page!

Vince Gill Laughs At "Def Leppard-Sounding" Country Songs.

VINCE GILL did a phone interview with the "Chicago Tribune" and they asked if he's in favor of the rock-oriented country music coming out of Nashville that "sounds like DEF LEPPARD." Vince, who is one of the most easygoing guys ever, actually took the bait and ran with it. He said, quote, "It makes me laugh when I hear this Def Leppard-sounding record with a guy singing to me about how country he is. "I appreciate them wanting to rock as hard as they want, but it's humorous to me that, lyrically, they're screaming about how hot your chick is in your truck."

(--The "Tribune" wrote that Vince may have been taking a swipe at LUKE BRYAN . . . even though Luke's name never came up in the interview that they published.)

(--The "truck" line actually sounds more to me like JASON ALDEAN'S song "She's Country" . . . when he sings, quote, "She's a hot little number in her pick-up truck.")

New Zac Brown Band Album On The Way!

The new ZAC BROWN BAND album "Uncaged" comes out July 10th. And Zac Brown says it's going to sound different than anything they've done before. "It's your basic country-Southern rock-bluegrass-reggae-jam record." Although he was kinda joking . . . and just trying to make the point that the band's sound is evolving. They hired a permanent percussionist to beef up their rhythm section. Quote, "It really creates a new kind of pulse within the band." The album also has a straight-up R&B dance song called "Overnight". For that one, they brought in the New Orleans-based TROMBONE SHORTY & ORLEANS AVENUE. And there's a point to all the changes: It's about being a more dynamic live band. Zac says, quote, "It's really about making people dance. You just don't let them go. It's about just grabbing people in that pulse and then not letting them go that entire song."

Carrie Underwood Says Simon Cowell Hates Country Music

CARRIE UNDERWOOD is doing press in advance of her first tour of the United Kingdom this summer. During one interview she admitted that former "American Idol" judge SIMON COWELL despises country music. Carrie said, quote, "Before the ('Idol') audition, I was told, 'You know Simon hates country music, right?' And I was like, 'Oh no! What else am I supposed to do?' But I did what I know I can do, and he recognized that." We know that Simon became a huge fan of Carrie. And the feeling is mutual. She believes his no B.S. attitude is one of the reasons he's such a good judge. She said, quote, "I love the judges now, but it's a whole new show. I would love the contestants to have to go through Simon. It's fun to watch him being brutally honest."

Scotty McCreery Was Hit in the Throat with a Baseball...

Despite being, like, everywhere, SCOTTY MCCREERY is still on his high school baseball team in Garner, North Carolina. But he had a scare during a game last week that could have been disastrous. Scotty was pitching whenthe opposing batter hit a one-hopper back to the mound that nailed him in the throat. Fortunately, Scotty recovered in time to throw the batter out and stay in the game. A record company suit confirmed that Scotty was not injured. He'll be fine. What is the odds of that even happening??

Why Miranda and Blake Won't Work Together Very Often.

We’ve heard Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert singing together on songs like “Home” and “Better in the Long Run,” from Miranda’s latest CD. But if you’re hoping for an entire album of duets, you might have to wait awhile. Miranda says the couple actually prefers to keep their collaborations few and far between. “We work pretty well together because we don’t do it often,” she believes. “I think that the key is we sort of pick and choose what we want to do together as artists because we don’t ever want the business to get in the way of our personal relationship.” She also thinks only working together every now and then helps keep their work together “special.” The two have already completed an entire CD together -- as producers. The two headed up Neal McCoy’s latest album, XII, which came out last month.

NFL Takes On Crazy, Rowdy Fans..

Between 30 and 40 fans are kicked out of the average NFL game, for being drunk, fighting, or other types of disorderly conduct. And now, it's going to be tougher for them to get back in. Fans thrown out of a stadium will have to take a four-hour online anger-management course that costs $75. The course includes topics on the risk factors of alcohol abuse, skills for improving judgment, stress management, and, quote, “understanding the effect one has on the fan experience." It was designed by a licensed psychotherapist. -At the end of the course, they'll be given a psychological test before they're allowed to attend another game. And they have to get 70% of the questions right to pass. If they DON'T take the class and go to the stadium anyway, they can be arrested by security guards for trespassing. The Patriots, Jets, and Giants have had the policy since 2010, but the entire league will use it for the first time this season.

Stupid Photo of the Day . . . a Valet Crashed a Jeep Grand Cherokee Into a Mini Cooper, a Porsche, and Maserati Worth $400,000!

Earlier, I was talking about tipping people. Here's an example of someone not to tip...
A valet parking attendant at the Epic Hotel in Miami, Florida did about $400,000 in damage Friday night. There are different reports about which car the valet was driving, but by the time he was finished, a Jeep Grand Cherokee ended up ON TOP OF a Maserati GranTurismo, AND a Porsche 356. A Mini Cooper also got hit. Okay...so maybe you wouldn't tip THIS valet....just sayin'!

Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood Got Married on Saturday!

LADY ANTEBELLUM guitarist DAVE HAYWOOD got married on Saturday to his fiancée Kelli Cashiola. The ceremony was held on a private farm outside Nashville. Dave's bandmates CHARLES KELLEY and HILLARY SCOTT were there, but as far as we know, they behaved themselves. For those of you who care about such things, Kelli wore a lacy white dress with a sash tied at the small of her back and a white flower in her hair. Dave cleaned it up for the occasion and wore a suit and tie.

Congrats Dave & Kelli!!

Toby Keith is Heading Out on His 10th Anniversary USO Tour!

TOBY KEITH is heading to the Middle East for another USO trip. And this one's a milestone. Toby explains quote, "We should surpass 200 shows, 10 years, our tenth year anniversary. "The exact itinerary is always held back for safety reasons, but Toby has a good idea where he's going. He says quote, "We do a week in Afghanistan and then I think we do a week in Kuwait, Bahrain. "(And) we've started hitting aircraft carriers and doing a big show for 5,000 a night on the aircraft carrier and then flying helicopters off the battleships and doing little two-man shows during the day."

Thank you, Toby for all you do for our service men and women. You are a true patriot.

Taylor Swift Will Only Take Acting Roles That's She's Passionate About.

TAYLOR SWIFT'S acting career is just getting started. She's done a guest spot on "CSI", had a small part in "Valentine's Day", and did voice work for "The Lorax". But that doesn't mean she's going to be showing up in one silly movie after another. Taylor says, quote, "When I look at acting careers that I really admire, I see that it's been a precise decision-making process for these people. They make decisions based on what they love and they do only the things that they are passionate about. "They play only characters that they can’t stop thinking about." Taylor's also concerned with only picking what she feels are quality scripts. She says, quote, "I'm such a fan of great writing and great storytelling. "I'm looking for great, powerful writing behind whatever cast is surrounding it, whatever director is steering it . . . that would all be peripheral to the fact that the story is brilliant and has to be told.”

Carrie Underwood Reveals Why She Went Vegan.

Carrie Underwood has been one of music's most famous vegetarians for years, but now she's gone completely vegan. That means Carrie doesn't eat any food that came from an animal like milk or eggs. Carrie was inspired to make the change after seeing a woman she works with just looking radiant one day. "Something had happened in her life. There was some switch flipped," Carrie explains. "Her skin was glowing. Her eyes were gorgeous. Like, her body was amazing." When that girl told Carrie it was all because of going vegan, Carrie decided to give it a shot. As a result, Carrie has discovered she had some issues with eating dairy products. She explains, "My reflex has gotten a lot better and things like that, and I think it was 'cause of dairy." Going vegan has led Carrie to make healthier eating choices like forgoing that cheesy pasta when she eats out. She's not sure if she'll stick with the diet long term though. "Someday we will have a farm, and I will have some pet chickens," Carrie reveals. You can see the results of Carrie's vegan diet in her latest video for "Good Girl." That's the lead single from Carrie's new album, Blown Away, due out May 1.

Keith Urban's Surgically Repaired Voice is "Extraordinary"

KEITH URBAN knew last year's vocal cord surgery was the right thing to do . . . but he had no idea his voice would come back as strong as it has. He says, quote, "I think if a footballer in their 40s was given their knees back like they were in their early 20s, that’s kind of how I feel right now. It's an extraordinary feeling of freedom." A big test came when Keith did a 90-minute set at the Houston Rodeo. He pushed himself as hard as possible and there were no problems afterwards. The surgery has also changed Keith's approach to songwriting. He no longer has to worry about writing something that would actually be painful to sing. He explains, quote, "So I think getting my voice back has sort of been a metaphor for finding my voice more so as well as an artist, broadening it, really, to the things that I want to write about and I feel ready to write about that I guess I haven't in recent years."

Big & Rich Picked the Title of Their Next Album . . . With a Little Help From Bon Jovi!

BIG & RICH don't have a release date for their next album . . . but they DO have a title. They're calling it "Hillbilly Jedis". They settled on it while writing songs with a couple of dudes from BON JOVI. BIG KENNY ALPHIN tells the "Tennessean", quote, "It came out in a writing session we were doing with RICHIE SAMBORA and (JON) BON JOVI." They are going to record the song on our new album and a line in the song was hillbilly jedis with attitude." All of a sudden, Bon Jovi stops and says, 'Hillbilly Jedis? That's it. I'd buy that shirt.' We were like, 'Hey, that's about as descriptive as you can get of what we are.'" As far as what the new album will sound like. Expect something similar to Big & Rich's debut album, "Horse of a Different Color". Big Kenny explains, quote, "(It has) that same kind of heartfelt, poignant songs and a lot of good fun and pushing the limits as far as we can."

An Elementary School in Massachusetts Tried to Take the Word "God" Out of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA!

I think we can all agree that LEE GREENWOOD'S song "God Bless the USA" is fine the way it is. Why did the geniuses at Stall Brook Elementary school in Bellingham, Massachusetts try to change it? Here's what happened: They wanted the kids to perform the song at a school concert on April 12th. But instead of singing the chorus, "God Bless the USA", the kids were told to sing, "We Love the USA". Some of the parents heard about it, and launched an email protest. So, the school decided to REMOVE the song from the program. But that didn't make anyone happy, so they hatched another plan. They issued a press release saying the kids would now sing two songs: One about the 50 states, and the other being "God Bless the USA". But the kids would "be allowed TO SING or NOT TO SING the actual words". (???) Naturally, Lee Greenwood found out about the insanity and he had a few choice words of his own to say. Lee said, quote, "Maybe the school should have asked the parents their thoughts before changing the lyrics to the song. They could have even asked the writer of the song. "I of course would have said 'you can't change the lyrics at all or any part of the song.' The most important word in the whole piece of music is the word God, which is also in the title 'God Bless the USA'. "The song is played at every naturalization ceremony behind the national anthem. If the song is good enough to be played and performed in its original setting under Those circumstances, it surely should be good enough for our children."

Will Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw's New Song "Feel Like a Rock Star" Debut at Number One?

This is the reason they have awards shows. "Feel Like a Rock Star", the new song KENNY CHESNEY and TIM MCGRAW unleashed on Sunday's ACMs is already the most played song on country radio. And it's selling like crazy too. Kenny's label made it available for download during the show and people started jumping on it immediately. According to "Billboard",if it keeps selling at the current pace, it could debut at #1. That would make it only the second song to debut at Number One in the 22-year history of the modern charts. GARTH BROOKS' single "More Than a Memory" debuted at #1 back in September of 2007. And even if the buzz cools off, Kenny's record label is convinced the song will debut in the top ten.

Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore Question Ashton Kutcher's Motivations at the ACM's

Miranda Lambert has been known to tweet her thoughts about awards shows while watching the replay on her DVR a few days later. She caused a little stir earlier this year taking issue with Chris Brown's two performances on the Grammy Awards, tweeting “I don’t get it. He beat on a girl…Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen.” Now, Miranda is not so sure about Ashton Kutcher’s motivations at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Kutcher wore a cowboy hat and western jacket, and sang part of the George Strait hit “I Cross My Heart,” leading to Miranda’s latest controversial tweet. “Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?” The female vocalist winner wasn’t the only one to wonder. Justin Moore offered that he “doesn’t care for people making a mockery of the way country artists dress” via Twitter. Ashton himself chimed in with the final word, tweeting “I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you've ever met. Wasn't making fun at all.” The Two and a Half Men star added, “btw congratulations again.”

Blake Shelton Says Taylor Swift "Truly Deserved" the ACM Entertainer of the Year Award

If you know someone who is irritated that TAYLOR SWIFT picked up another Entertainer of the Year award, send them over to BLAKE SHELTON. He totally has her back and believes she's deserving of the trophy. That's what Blake was telling everyone backstage at the ACMs. He said, quote, "Taylor deserves it, she truly does. I don't think there's anybody with half a brain that would stand up here and say otherwise. "She's done a lot for us in country music, but take that out of the mix even and she's just one of those once in a lifetime stars that comes along that makes a difference and we're lucky enough in country music to call her one of us. "And that's pretty cool." Of course, it wouldn't be a Blake Shelton speech without some of his brilliant irreverence. He then added, "(But) I'm always gonna make fun of her in my monologues, so she might as well get used to that."

He's not abandoning his singing career either. Last week Scotty told "People" how he plans to balance the two. He said, quote, "I'll head out on the weekends on the road or something. We're gonna work it out."

Taylor Swift's Date to the ACMs Was Hospitalized and Had to Cancel.

You may remember that TAYLOR SWIFT was planning to take high school cancer patient Kevin McGuire to last night's ACMs. Unfortunately, Kevin couldn't attend because he checked into the hospital with a 103-degree fever. On Saturday, Taylor Tweeted, quote, "Just talked to Kevin McGuire. He's not well enough to join me at the ACMs. Please keep him in your thoughts. I'll make it up to you, Kevin!" By the way, Taylor was doing it right too. She paid for his tuxedo and shoes, PLUS airline tickets and hotel accommodations for Kevin and his family. Hope and Prayer to Kevin for a speedy recovery!
