American Country Awards - 2010
Lady Antebellum and Easton Corbin are leading the way for the new American Country Awards. They're the top nominees for the inaugural event, with seven bids apiece. Lady A is in the running for the top prize of Artist of the Year, as well as Artist of the Year: Duo or Group. They're also up for Album of the Year with "Need You Now," while the CD's title track has given the group nods in four more categories. Corbin is earning recognition on the strength of his breakthrough hit "A Little More Country Than That." Carrie Underwood is another big contender with six nominations, including Artist of the Year, while Miranda Lambert and Josh Turner each have five chances to win.
The American Country Awards includes honors for performers, albums, and songs, along with categories for touring and music videos. The public picks the winners, with voting now under way at www.the acas.com. Fans can cast one ballot a day. Voting is open for all categories until November 8th. However, voting will remain open for Artist of the Year until December 4th. The inaugural American Country Awards will air on Fox live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 6th.
