Blake Shelton Inducted Into Grand Ole Opry

Blake Shelton is now a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The singer calls an Opry induction "the Nashville dream" and "the pinnacle" of accomplishments. He adds that he believes it's the greatest honor he could ever receive in his career.

Shelton was inducted Saturday night in front of a sold-out audience that included family, friends and fans. Fellow country star and "Hillbilly Bone" duet partner Trace Adkins took on the task of officially welcoming Shelton to the Opry. In so doing, Adkins presented Shelton with the Opry Member Award. Shelton also performed some of his hits at the Opry Saturday night. His set included "She Wouldn't Be Gone," which was the song fans voted to hear through an Opry Twitter campaign, and his most recent chart-topper "It's All About Tonight." "Home" was the first song Shelton performed as an Opry member.
Blake Shelton made his Grand Ole Opry debut in May 2001. Nine years later, on September 28th, 2010, he was invited to become the venue's newest member. The invitation came on the same night that the country music community came together to celebrate the reopening of the Opry House five months after flood damaged the home of the legendary music showcase. The Grand Ole Opry is celebrating 85 years of existence this year.

Toby Keith to host WWE Monday Night Raw Tonight

Toby Keith will be mixing it up with the WWE. The singer is set to be the guest host on tonight's "Monday Night Raw," airing on the USA Network. The wrestling stint is part of Keith's promotion for his new album, "Bullets in the Gun," which arrived in stores earlier this month. The CD, featuring the hit singles "Trailerhood" and "Bullets in the Gun," debuted at number one on both the Country Albums chart and the all-genre Billboard 200. Keith has also been supporting his album on the road. He has two more dates scheduled this year. The country star will be in West Point, New York on November 11th and in Atlantic City, New Jersey on November 12th.

Rascal Flatts Offering Hits And More On "Invitation Only"

Rascal Flatts' "Invitation Only" will premiere next month. The trio taped their installment of the CMT series before an intimate studio audience in Nashville. They perform songs from their new album, "Nothing Like This," including their current single, "Why Wait." Viewers will also hear some of the group's biggest hits, such as "Summer Nights," "Fast Cars & Freedom," "Bless the Broken Road," and more. In a question and answer session, Flatts reflects on their ten year anniversary of making music. "Invitation Only: Rascal Flatts" will debut on CMT at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on Monday, November 15th. The band's CD "Nothing Like This" will arrive in stores the following day.

Country Stars Celebrate The Holidays With "CMA Country Christmas"

Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, and Rascal Flatts will be helping fans get into the holiday spirit. They're among the stars on board for the upcoming TV special "CMA Country Christmas." Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker, and Little Big Town are also slated to participate. The show will feature a mix of seasonal songs with heartwarming stories, with performers sharing their traditions along with favorite holiday memories. The stars will be on hand to tape "CMA Country Christmas" at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 11th -- the day after the 44th annual Country Music Association Awards ceremony. The special will air a few weeks later. ABC will premiere the 90-minute "CMA Country Christmas" on November 29th at 9:30 p.m. Eastern.

Montgomery Gentry Helping Build A Playground Today

Montgomery Gentry will be in Lexington, Kentucky today. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry will join volunteers from The Home Depot, Academy of Country Music and KaBOOM! to construct a playground in one day at Booker T. Washington Academy. The Kentucky natives are being honored with a playground built in their honor as recipients of this year's The Home Depot Humanitarian Award, which was presented back in April at the 45th annual ACM Awards. The duo let their fans pick the location for their park. Lexington was chosen as the playground site through an online vote.

Lady Antebellum, Easton Corbin Top Nominees For Inaugural American Country Awards

Lady Antebellum and Easton Corbin are leading the way for the new American Country Awards. They're the top nominees for the inaugural event, with seven bids a piece. Lady A is in the running for the top prize of Artist of the Year, as well as Artist of the Year: Duo or Group. They're also up for Album of the Year with "Need You Now," while the CD's title track has given the group nods in four more categories. Corbin is earning recognition on the strength of his breakthrough hit "A Little More Country Than That." Carrie Underwood is another big contender with six nominations, including Artist of the Year, while Miranda Lambert and Josh Turner each have five chances to win.

Taylor Swift Awarded At Nashville Songwriters Event

Taylor Swift is once again being recognized by the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. The country-pop singer-songwriter received the Songwriter/Artist of the Year title at the 40th Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony, which took place in Nashville Sunday night.

Mr. Cunningham from Happy Days Dies

TMZ Reports: Tom Bosley who famously played Mr. Cunningham on "Happy Days" -- died this morning at a hospital in Rancho Mirage, CA.

A rep for the Bosleys tells TMZ Tom "died of natural causes or specifically, from a brief battle with lung cancer."

He was 83 years old

Brad Paisley To Become An Author

Brad Paisley can now add author to his lengthy list of career achievements. He's penning his first book -- "The Diary of a Player" -- which is scheduled for release in the spring. The book honors the country, blues, and rock and roll guitar greats who influenced Paisley and tells Brad's story on how he became the person he is today. The liner notes Brad wrote for his instrumental album "Play" sum up the essence of "The Diary of a Player." He wrote for the 2008 CD, quote, "When I was eight I got a gift from my grandpa. No coincidence that around that time I also got an identity. See, no matter how I have changed, learned and evolved as a person, the guitar has been a major part of it, and really the only constant."

Paisley is teaming with David Wild on the project. Wild is a contributing editor to "Rolling Stone" as well as an Emmy nominated TV writer and producer. "The Diary of a Player" will be published in May by Howard Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster.

Country superstar Toby Keith will play a Veteran's Day show at Eisenhower Hall in West Point.

Keith's new album, "Bullets in the Gun," is out today and features a deluxe edition with live songs from his performance at the Fillmore in New York City.

The special performance, part of Keith's "American Ride" tour, is at 8 p.m. Nov. 11.
