Are These the Top 20 "Opening Lyrics" in Country Music History?
The first few lyrics of a song are significant. With any luck they're as memorable as the chorus or the hook that sticks in your mind. So AOL decided to rank what they consider the "Top 20 Songs With The Most Memorable Opening Lyrics" in country music history. 2.) "I Saw the Light", Hank Williams
3.) "Friends in Low Places", Garth Brooks

Miranda Lambert Set an Attendance Record at Billy Bob's Texas!
There's no stopping MIRANDA LAMBERT. Last weekend she did what no artist has ever done before. She sold out back-to-back shows at the historic Billy Bob's Texas in Ft. Worth. Not only that, but both shows sold out in a record breaking 30 minutes when tickets went on sale back in December. A Billy Bob's spokesperson said, quote, "We at Billy Bob's Texas couldn't be happier with Miranda Lambert. "She was the only female artist to sell out our venue in 2010 and nearly 6,000 fans per night came out last Friday and Saturday to give us the first back-to-back sellouts in our 30 year history."
A Woman Attacks Her Roommate With Scissors and a Wooden Board Over Missing Girl Scout Cookies!
Early Sunday morning, 31-year-old Hersha Howard of Naples, Florida got home and went to the kitchen to eat from her stash of Thin Mints. But she found that her delicious cookies were ALL GONE. And she flipped out. She went into her roommate's room, woke her up, and accused her of eating the cookies. The roommate said she didn't eat them. Hersha didn't believe her . . . they argued . . . and it escalated. The argument quickly turned into Hersha CHASING her roommate around with SCISSORS . . . HITTING her with a WOODEN BOARD . . . following her outside . . . and attacking her with a sign. The roommate's husband separated them and called the police. Hersha was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. As for what happened to the missing cookies . . . turns out the roommate was telling the truth. Earlier that day she HAD opened the Thin Mints. But she didn't eat them . . . she gave them to Hersha's KIDS because they were hungry.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood Are Recording a Duet Together.
You may have heard that BRAD PAISLEY pushed back the release date of his next album . . . "This Is Country Music" . . . to May 24th. And this may be the reason why. According to Jimmy Carter.com, Brad is recording a duet with CARRIE UNDERWOOD . . . and the song will be on that album. It's a smart move beyond just getting to be in the same room as Carrie Underwood. If the song is good, they could pick up a nomination in one of those "Vocal Event" or "Musical Event" categories, which go to songs featuring two or more singers.
A Woman Is Suspended From Work For Taking a Phone Call On Valentine's Day . . . From Her Son In Afghanistan!
There aren't many calls you HAVE to take when you're at work. Most of the time, you could call the person back at lunch or on the way home. This was NOT one of those calls. On Valentine's Day, Teresa Danford was at work at an upholstery factory called Crane Interiors in Woodbury, Tennessee when she got a call. It was from her son, who's currently deployed in AFGHANISTAN! He rarely gets a chance to call her . . . he only gets a call when his unit gets a round with the satellite phone, so she took it. But there was a problem. Crane has a "no cell phones at work" policy. So when Teresa finished up her call, her managers told her she was SUSPENDED for three days, WITHOUT PAY. And if it happened again, she'd be fired. The company says that phones are banned during work hours, quote, "due to safety concerns within a production environment." They also say they've apologized to Teresa. But the policy is the policy.
Teresa's son is scheduled to return home next month.

Kenny Chesney Honors Childhood Hero in New Documentary
Kenny Chesney fielded a phone call from ESPN just a few days after finishing his first football documentary, Boys of Fall. They wanted to know if he'd consider producing another project spotlighting one of his sports idols, Condredge Holloway, the University of Tennessee player from the early '70s who became the first black quarterback in the Southeastern Conference. Although the singer was looking forward to a break in his demanding schedule, he knew he couldn't resist the offer.

The Five Most Common Sleep Positions and What They Say About Your Personality.
These things always seem like nonsense, but according to "Men's Health", the position you sleep in at night could reveal certain things about your personality. Researchers surveyed 1,000 people and watched them sleep. Here are the five most common positions, and what they mean.
#1.) The Fetus Position. It's the most popular position and 41% of the people who were studied prefer it. Here's what it means: If you sleep on your side, people think you're tough, but you're actually shy and sensitive. It might take a while before you warm up to strangers, but once you know them you're much more relaxed. There's also one health concern: If you sleep on your LEFT side, it can put stress on your liver, stomach, and lungs. So sleeping on your right side is better.
#2.) Sleeping on Your Side, But Not Curling Up. It means you're social and easygoing. But you also tend to trust people too much, so you're easy to take advantage of.
#3.) The Yearner Position. It's when you sleep on your side with both arms out in front of you, kind of the way Frankenstein looks when he walks and it means you're open to new things, but also suspicious and cynical. It takes you a long time to make decisions. But once you do, you don't change your mind very easily.
#4.) Sleeping on Your Stomach. People who sleep on their stomach with their hands above their head are good at making quick decisions, but sometimes that results in BAD decisions. They also tend to take criticism personally.
#5.) The Soldier Position. It's when you sleep on your back with your arms out at your sides and your legs slightly spread. If that's you, then according to the study, you're quiet and reserved, but you expect a lot out of yourself and others.
And there's also a good chance you snore, since sleeping on your back makes it harder to breathe. You'll sleep better and so will the person next to you if you flip over and sleep on your stomach. Plus, sleeping on your stomach is better for digestion.

Uncle Kracker Says Some Acts are "Miserable" to Go on Tour With.
Concert videos make it look like artists are having an absolute blast on the road. But UNCLE KRACKER says that's not always the case. Some acts are actually miserable to tour with. That's why Cracker is looking forward to opening for KENNY CHESNEY'S "Goin' Coastal" tour. He says, quote, "(Kenny and I) are both pretty laid-back cats, and he's just such a great dude, so we do well together. "He's just a great guy and a lot of fun to be around, and I'm a pretty fun person. The last thing you want is to be out on the road with some miserable group, just putzing around. "I've been on plenty of tours where there's no interaction between bands at all. But when you're out with Chesney, all day every day, there's something fun happening." While we're on the subject: Uncle Kracker is currently in Nashville recording his next album. He says he's written about 20 songs and describes them as, quote, "A little more Americana. I don't want to say rootsy, but I think it's more 'me' than the last record was." No word on when that album will be out.

Stupid Video Of The Day - Recital Gusher!
Someone uploaded a video to YouTube last June, but it's just becoming popular now. It shows a kid standing in the back row at a school recital, then he projectile vomits on two kids in front of him. He doesn't move, he just stands there with his arms crossed. But it also looks like maybe it was staged . . . like he already had something in his mouth, and just spit it up as a prank. And the guy who made the video added annoying fake sound effects. Anyway, still funny...
Glen Campbell Will Launch a Tour in Support of His Farewell Album.
It's been almost a year since we heard GLEN CAMPBELL was recording a farewell album and that an "unbelievable amount" of people were coming out of the woodwork to perform on it.Well, the album, which is called "Ghost on the Canvas", should be ready to come out sometime this summer. Glen is also going to launch a farewell tour to go along with it. But don't expect some huge arena-type send-off. A spokesperson said Glen will be playing small halls or theaters in selected cities. And he's going to take his time. He'll arrive in each town early to do plenty of interviews and promotions. The rep also said Glen is, quote, "Playing guitar better than ever, singing and writing better than ever. It's really going to be a great final statement from him." CMT's OFFSTAGE: Tim McGraw's Ancestors Suffer Wrath of Indian Outlaw!
Oh, the irony! To learn that Tim McGraw's sixth great grandfather was likely killed by some angry Indians made my Friday night (Feb. 11) so very interesting. I was watching McGraw on Who Do You Think You Are, the TV series that helps celebrities explore their family trees, when he stumbled upon the fact that one of his distant grandpas -- Isaac Chrisman -- was living on his 220 acres in southwest Virginia in the early 1770s, minding his own business.....

Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band Share "Pretty Cool" Grammy!
Alan Jackson and the Zac Brown Band each won their second career Grammy for their No. 1 hit, "As She's Walking Away," on Sunday (Feb. 13) in Los Angeles. The song won for best country collaboration with vocals. Last year, the Zac Brown Band won for best new artist, while Jackson's "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" won a Grammy in 2002 for best country song. "I was real honored when Zac asked me to be on this record," Jackson said. "You know, it's pretty cool when a few of us Georgia boys can end up winning a Grammy out in L.A." Brown noted, "It was an honor to be recognized by the Recording Academy as best new artist last year, and to be able to follow that up with another win this year was just incredible. We want to thank our supportive fans, our hard working team and all the great artists who've collaborated with us, including one of our musical heroes, Alan Jackson, who we share the win for best country collaboration. We're thrilled, and we're simply going to continue making music we love

Eight Foods You Shouldn't Order on Valentine's Day!
If you're going out for dinner tonight, here's a list from "Reader's Digest" of eight foods you should NEVER order on Valentine's Day.
#1.) Beans. The last thing you want to do is stink up the car on the drive home . . . or worse, stink it up between the SHEETS.
#2.) Lobster and Crab. It might be hard to feel the romance, when the person you're sitting across from is ripping apart an animal with their bare hands.
#3.) Spinach. There's a chance it'll get stuck in your teeth, and you'll embarrass yourself.
#4.) Garlic Bread. You'll smell like garlic for the rest of the night, so only order it if your date wants some too.
#5.) Wings and Ribs. Basically, avoid anything that requires a Wet Nap.
#6.) An Oversized Hamburger. Don't order something that's hard to fit your mouth around. In fact, you should probably avoid anything you have to eat with your hands. For one day, class it up and use silverware.
#7.) Soup. You'll start slurping and ruin the mood for your date . . . and all the other couples seated nearby.
#8.) Anything Off a Dollar Menu. If you're taking your date to a fast food restaurant for Valentine's Day, at least splurge and go for a value meal . . . and maybe even super-size it.

15% of Americans Think We Should Replace the National Anthem!
This really boils my blood!!!
Are there REALLY this many CHRISTINA AGUILERA sympathizers out there? Come on. After Christina's problem with the lyrics to "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl, Rasmussen Reports ran a nationwide telephone survey about the national anthem. And 15% of people said they think we should CHANGE the anthem. Those 15% believe that we should change it to a different patriotic song. (????) 76% say the anthem is fine the way it is. 82% of adults said they know every word to the national anthem. 9% say they don't. Another 9% said they're not sure. which . . . um . . . I'm thinking means that they don't.
(Rasmussen Reports)
SO! To bring the small group of people out there up to speed, HERE are all the words to the National Anthem!
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

"American Idol" Producers Are Doing a Country Singing Competition on CMT
CMT is doing another "American Idol"-type talent show . . . but this time it has some heavy hitters behind it. It's being produced by NIGEL LYTHGOE and his son SIMON. Nigel was an executive producer on "American Idol" and you may recognize him as one of the judges on "So You Think You Can Dance". He also co-created that show. The new show is called "CMT's Next Superstar" and it's supposed to debut sometime in April. They're doing 10 episodes and will announce the winner during the "CMT Music Awards". No word yet on who the judges will be. Here's Nigel explaining why this show will be so very different, quote, "Country music is all about storytelling, personalities and putting yourself into the songs. "This show is not about going to a set, it's about being in a location that has history to it. We're down and dirty in the heart of Nashville. "It's not just going to be another 'American Idol' production, why would I be involved in that? I've got the best. From my point of view, I want to change it up totally."

The 50 Most Beautiful Women in Film
The "Los Angeles Times Magazine" has put together a list of the 50 Most Beautiful Women in Film. Their criteria was . . . whatever they wanted it to be. They basically just made it up. Here's the Top 5 . . .
#1.) Isabelle Adjani(Pictured Above). She's French actress. There's probably not much you would have seen her in. Except maybe Roman Polanski's "The Tenant" way back in 1976. But she's still working.
#2.) Brigitte Bardot. One of the biggest sex symbols of the '50s and '60s. She hasn't acted in almost 40 YEARS, though. These days she's a pretty militant animal rights activist.
#3.) Kim Basinger
#4.) Monica Bellucci
#5.) Halle Berry

Five Vegetarian Super Bowl Foods That Everyone Will Like
People who throw Super Bowl parties don't always make enough stuff for vegetarians. Yeah, most football fans are meat-eaters, but these days you have to have more than just chips and salsa and vegetable dip for your vegetarian friends. The problem is, even when hosts DO make something special, a lot of it goes to waste because only one or two people eat it. So here's a list from "Women's Health Magazine" of five vegetarian foods that EVERYONE will like.
#1.) Spinach Artichoke Dip. It's easy to make at home, or you can buy it pre-made in the frozen food aisle of most grocery stores. The only catch is, it has cheese and usually mayonnaise, which hardcore vegans won't eat.
#2.) Fried Zucchini Sticks with Marinara Sauce. It's not the HEALTHIEST way to eat vegetables. But it's a lot healthier than cheese sticks. And as I'm sure you know, football fans will eat anything if it's fried.
#3.) Meatless Chili with Avocado. If you're making chili anyway, it's easy to do a batch with just beans. Then add chopped avocado, or serve it on the side. And while you're at it, make sure you serve guacamole, which is a Super Bowl staple.
#4.) Portobello Burgers. They're regarded as kind of a gourmet veggie burger. So even if your vegetarian friends don't show up, they'll probably get eaten.
#5.) Hummus. It's not on the "Women's Health" list but it should be, because basically any kind of pre-made hummus at the grocery store is vegetarian-friendly.
If you've never had hummus, it's just mashed chickpeas blended with olive oil, garlic, salt, and tahini, which is made with ground sesame seeds. And you can eat it with anything dipable, like crackers, chips, pretzels, and raw veggies.

TODAY! Go Red For Women!
What is "Go Red For Women"?
In 2004, the American Heart Association (AHA) faced a challenge. Cardiovascular disease claimed the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet women were not paying attention. In fact, many even dismissed it as an “older man’s disease.” To dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women, the American Heart Association created Go Red For Women – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.

The Most Common "Stupid Request" That Flight Attendants Hear.
Virgin Atlantic airlines just did a survey of more than 3,000 flight attendants and asked them for the strangest, craziest, and dumbest requests they've ever gotten from passengers. The number one most common "stupid request" they've heard is . . . "Can you open the window?" Number two is "Can you show me to the showers?"
Here are some less common, but equally bad, requests that different flight attendants have heard.
"Is there a McDonald's on board?"
"Can you take my children to the play room?"
"Can you ask the captain to stop the turbulence?"
"Will you fix my hair?"
"The engines are too noisy, can you turn them down?"

Kenny Chesney To Sit Out This Year’s Super Bowl.
After attending last year’s Super Bowl to cheer on both opponents, Kenny Chesney will be watching the big game from home this year. Kenny said “The two teams that are in it, I’ve got a few friends that play on those teams, but I’m not emotionally or mentally invested in either one of those teams. So, I think I’m gonna have a small Super Bowl party at the house and have some family and friends over and relax and enjoy it at home so I don’t have to travel.” Just a few weeks after the Super Bowl Kenny will kick off his 2011 "Goin’ Coastal" Tour!
Phil Has Spoken!!
GOBBLER'S KNOB, Penn. -- The world-famous weather-reading groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicted spring was on its way Wednesday from his home at Gobbler's Knob, near Punxsutawney, Penn. His prediction offered the US some hope of respite as the country faced one of its largest winter storms since the 1950s.
