5 of the Dumbest Things Ever Written On Facebook

There's a new survey out that says 56% of people say they'd rather look SEXY on Facebook than INTELLIGENT. Based on what I've seen on Facebook, I'm surprised that number isn't higher.
In that spirit, I tracked down some of the stupidest things ever written on Facebook. And these are real things that people posted.

Taylor Swift Teases New Music in Facebook Post

Taylor Swift fans can most likely expect to hear some new music shortly. Taylor posted a message on Facebook this week from Nashville saying, "I just sat in a big room with a lot of people and made a lot of decisions about a lot of things happening very soon." Taylor admits the post is vague, but she adds, "I think you know what that means. Stuff is about to happen." Taylor has been working on her new album for most of this year since wrapping up the Speak Now World Tour in March.

A Nine-Year-Old Boy Made a Series of Trades, and Turned a Toy Soldier Into a Trip to Disney World for a Fallen Soldier's Family

Back in February, nine-year-old Brendan Haas of Kingston, Massachusetts heard about the famous website One Red Paperclip . . . which is the story of how a guy used a series of trades to turn one red paperclip into a house. Brendan decided he wanted to try something similar . . . but he wanted to use his trades to help out the family of a fallen U.S. soldier. So he set up a Facebook page to trade one toy soldier for a trip to Disney World. The trade offers he got were VERY generous. He traded the toy soldier for a $50 Walmart gift card. That got him an overnight spa trip. That led to Red Sox tickets. Those led to a snowmobiling trip. And from there, he got the Disney World trip. On Memorial Day, he randomly picked one of the families of fallen soldiers who had emailed him. He chose the family of a soldier named Timothy Steele and sent them to Disney World, including airfare, hotel, and $900 in gift certificates. Steele was killed in Afghanistan last August at age 25. He left behind a wife and a two-year-old daughter . . . who coincidentally lived pretty close to Brendan, in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Beware of Fake Luke Bryan Facebook Profiles!!

LUKE BRYAN is tired of people pretending to be him on Facebook. So, he went on Facebook to let everyone know about it. Here's what he wrote, quote, "Hey y'all, please share this! I just want to let everybody in on something. There have been a lot of issues with fake Facebook profiles of me. This is the only profile I use for correspondence. "I don't have a personal page. If you are friends with another Luke Bryan,unfriend them and don't believe any of the messages. "Also, people are impersonating my wife, of all people. She does NOT use Facebook. Unfriend anyone pretending to be her. "I'm sorry for such a long post, but I want all of you, my fans, to be aware of what's going on."

If You "Friend" Ronnie Dunn, Don't Be Surprised To Hear Back From Him!

Part of my job is to pour through the social media and see what the country artists are saying and doing. And I have to admit, although almost everyone is on Facebook and Twitter, plenty of them aren't paying any attention to their fans. Not RONNIE DUNN. Not only does Ronnie actively manage his own page, he'll even chat with people who "friend" him. He says, quote, "I've been into (Facebook) from day one. I'm a freak about that stuff. I love where it's all headed. "I enjoy the whole process. I enjoy the back and forth. I'll go on a few minutes a night, sitting watching TV at the house or rolling on the bus late at night talking to people back and forth. I love it."

A Woman is Saved After a Fall at Home When She Posts an Emergency Facebook Status Update!

Cindy Lincoln of Stuart, Florida was doing laundry at home, alone, when she slipped and fell. Her age wasn't given, but from photos we'd estimate she's in her late 50s or early 60s. As soon as she fell she heard her femur CRUNCH, and she was in excruciating pain. She couldn't stand up, she could barely move, and she couldn't get to a phone to call 911. After almost TEN HOURS on the floor, she realized her laptop was across the room on a table. So she managed to drag herself across the floor, reach up to the laptop, sign on to Facebook, and type a status update: "Call 911, I need help." All of her kids are adults and carry their smartphones on them, so she hoped one of them would see it. And a few minutes later, her daughter-in-law did and called 911. EMTs came to Cindy's house and took her to the hospital, where she's still recovering.

Jerrod Niemann Has *No* Embarrassing Songs on His iPod!

Most of us would admit we have a few songs on our portable device that we're not exactly proud to tell everyone about. Somebody tried to trap JERROD NIEMANN into admitting he does . . . but he wouldn't bite. He answered, quote, "I don't have embarrassing songs. My iPod, it's pretty dear to me, so I am not embarrassed. My parents owned a rolling skating rink while I was growing up, so there are those songs. (--Like what Jerrod, "Dancing Queen"? But, I digress...continue...LOL)"And some old-school TUPAC (SHAKUR), the song, 'Me Against the World' . . . and old-school stuff, like 'Walk This Way' with RUN-D.M.C. and AEROSMITH." Debt Collectors Have Been Going After People Who Owe Money By Harassing Their Facebook Friends. But a Court Ruled It's Illegal.

Apparently, debt collectors have been trying to "talk" people into paying up by tracking them down on Facebook then harassing their FACEBOOK FRIENDS! In Florida, one collection agent was trying to get car payments from a woman named Melanie Beacham, and when she kept ignoring his calls, texts, and emails . . . he went on Facebook and started sending messages to her friends and family. Melanie sued, saying he was violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which only allows a debt collector to get in touch with a person's friends and family if he doesn't know where the person is. The debt collectors have been using social media to dance around that policy because the FDCPA was established in 1978, so it only covers things like phone calls and home visits, not a brand-new technology like Facebook. Well, a judge at the Pinellas Circuit Court in Florida ruled that even though social media isn't specifically covered in the FDCPA, it's still illegal. It's being called a landmark case, because it set a precedent that debt collectors can't harass your Facebook friends.
