Toby Keith Reunited a Soldier and His Wife at One of His Concerts.

This happened a little over a week ago, but it's just getting around. It's a video of TOBY KEITH surprising a military wife who thought her husband was still on duty in Afghanistan. Toby pulled the woman out of the audience and asked her to hang around and help him sing "American Soldier". When the song ended her husband, Major Pete Cruz, came walking from the back of the stage and totally surprised her. It's beyond moving to see how much they missed each other. Have the box of tissues ready. Way to go Toby!

Chris Young Reunites with Wounded Military Pal in North Dakota.

Chris Young recently reconnected with a one of his military pals at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota before his show at the North Dakota State Fair. Former airman Scott Lilley was wounded in Iran in 2007 and actually went on tour to entertain the troops with Chris in 2009. He was even featured with Chris in the GAC TV special Stars for Stripes: Wounded Warriors Return. After the meeting, Chris says, "It was awesome to see Scott again and always great to be around the brave men and women who serve our country." Chris is a board member of Stars for Stripes, a non-profit organization sending entertainers out to U.S. military forces in remote areas.

Kellie Pickler's Date to the CMT Awards Was a Soldier Wounded in Iraq.

KELLIE PICKLER brought a date to Wednesday's CMT Awards but he wasn't her husband, Kyle Jacobs. His name is Sgt. Sean DeBevoise, and he's a Marine who was wounded in Iraq back in 2006.
Kellie Tweeted a picture of them at the show on Wednesday and wrote, quote, "Me and my date." Kellie met Sgt. DeBevoise at a charity event in North Carolina, and he invited her to the Hope For Our Heroes, Got Heart, Give Hope Gala, which went down last month in Washington D.C. Kellie couldn't make it so she invited him to the CMT Awards. Sgt. DeBevoise story is pretty compelling. He was wounded in combat several times and at one point was told he’d never walk again. He proved everybody wrong.

Tim McGraw and the Wounded Warrior Project Are Giving Away Free Homes to 25 Military Families!

Here's a great story to kick off your Memorial Day weekend. TIM MCGRAW is working with the Wounded Warrior Project to give away 25 mortgage-free homes to wounded American soldiers and service members in need. They'll be giving a home to one family in 25 different cities on Tim's "Brothers of the Sun" tour with KENNY CHESNEY. Tim is officially kicking off the project on Monday with a special concert in New York City for military personnel who are in town for the annual Fleet Week celebration. Here's Tim's statement: Quote, "My sister’s a veteran of the first Gulf War. My uncle was a Vietnam veteran and my grandfather was a World War II veteran. I've always felt a deep sense of respect and obligation to our troops. "Being able to reward them for their dedicated work with a new home will be even more rewarding for us. It feels so good to give back to them, and to have the opportunity to entertain them on Memorial Day is something I’m honored to do."

Taylor Swift Sends Flowers, Makes Call to Family of Fallen Marine.

Taylor Swift has reached out to the family of Sgt. Wade Wilson, a U.S. Marine from Leona, Texas who was killed in action in Afghanistan on May 11, 2012. According to KBTX, Swift sent flowers and placed a personal call to the fallen Marine's family; she was alerted to his death by a fellow Marine, Corporal Josh Marreel, who posted a heartfelt video message to the star on YouTube.

 "This is a shout out to the one and only Taylor Swift," Marreel says to the camera. "I know you have no idea who I am but this video isn't about me. This is about a good buddy, Sgt. Wade D. Wilson, who was killed in action...Anybody that knew Willy knew that he worshiped you. He even slept with a poster of you in between our beds in Afghanistan on his first deployment there." "This guy was my best friend," Marreel says. "I know a lot of people on here ask celebrities to go to dances and s**t with them, all I'm asking is for you to think about him."

Taylor's hand-written floral card reads, "Wade, Thank you for loving my music. I won't forget it, and I will never forget you. All my love, Taylor Swift." According to KBTX, Swift told Wilson's family she wanted to wear his dogtags in tribute in her next video, and they were moved by her gestures of condolence. Pictured above is Sgt. Kellie Pickler Got to Ride with the Blue Angels!

Yes, country stars have it better than you and me. KELLIE PICKLER got to fly with the world famous Blue Angels on Wednesday. Stud pilot Mark Tedrow took Kellie from ground level to 2,000 feet in just four seconds. Oh yeah. Kellie Tweeted, "I just landed! It was incredible! Biggest adrenaline rush EVER!" She added, quote, "Thank you @BlueAngels for the fastest most badass ride of my life! Let's fly again soon!"

Pearl Harbor attack remembered at 70th anniversary ceremonies; 120 survivors to participate.

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — The Dec. 7, 1941, bombing of Pearl Harbor and those who lost their lives that day are being remembered Wednesday on the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack that brought the U.S. into World War II.

About 120 survivors will join Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, military leaders and civilians to observe a moment of silence in Pearl Harbor at 7:55 a.m. Hawaii time — the moment the attack began seven decades ago.

Thoughts From Craig Morgan...Former U.S. Army Ranger!

Earlier this year we got CRAIG MORGAN'S take on the killing of Osama bin Laden. Craig's a former Army Ranger who's served overseas, so I respect his opinion. So here's what he thinks about the U.S. pulling our troops out of Iraq. He said, quote, "It's a good thing. It's where we're at. We will still have a presence there. "But as far as a show of force and a large group, it's not necessary anymore. I know this for a fact. I've been there recently and we don't need as many people there as we had in the past. "But we do need a presence and I'm confident that we will maintain a presence in that country in the same way we have in Korea since the Korean War." One more thing: Craig got in early on the whole SOP craze, which is where you take photos of people "Sleeping on Plane". But now it's morphed into something way better. Now Craig and his crew snap photos of kickass mullets. Craig says, quote, "Me and the whole band, we're mullet hunters. So we try to find as many people with mullets as we can and take pictures."

The Final U.S. Army Draftee Has Finally Retired

The U.S. military hasn't held a draft since the Vietnam War. But, believe it or not, until last week there was one draftee who was still serving. He's 58-year-old Command Sergeant Major Jeff Mellinger. He was drafted in 1972, during Vietnam, and was sent to an Army office in Germany. He liked working for the Army. So, he's been there ever since. And he hasn't just been behind a desk. He was recruited into the Army Rangers and did more than 3,700 parachute jumps. He even served in Iraq a few years ago, and survived 27 roadside bombings. Finally, last week, he retired after 39 years. That means there's not a single person who was drafted still serving in the military. Mellinger had been serving at Fort Belvoir in Virginia, working for the Army Material Command. His job was to encourage female troops to try out for Special Forces assignments.

This might be fake, but there's a video online of a fighter jet in Argentina doing an INSANELY low fly-by, right over a group of people. It's only a few feet off the ground when it goes by, and the people actually DUCK to get out of the way. Is it real? You decide. Looks real to me!

Trace Adkins Gave a Video Interview for a Pentagon Website, Expressing His Gratitude For the Soldiers Who Protect Us.

TRACE ADKINS loves going overseas to perform for our troops. And he told the Pentagon Channel that he's going back again later this year. He also gave them a great answer as to why he has such respect for our brave soldiers. He said, quote, "You know, I figure I can protect my family within the confines of my own yard. Outside of that, I need help. So I try to show my gratitude and respect." Trace's interview was on an episode of "Command Performance" on the Pentagon Channel. I had no idea it even existed, but it's riveting. Check it out!

A Woman Is Suspended From Work For Taking a Phone Call On Valentine's Day . . . From Her Son In Afghanistan!

There aren't many calls you HAVE to take when you're at work. Most of the time, you could call the person back at lunch or on the way home. This was NOT one of those calls. On Valentine's Day, Teresa Danford was at work at an upholstery factory called Crane Interiors in Woodbury, Tennessee when she got a call. It was from her son, who's currently deployed in AFGHANISTAN! He rarely gets a chance to call her . . . he only gets a call when his unit gets a round with the satellite phone, so she took it. But there was a problem. Crane has a "no cell phones at work" policy. So when Teresa finished up her call, her managers told her she was SUSPENDED for three days, WITHOUT PAY. And if it happened again, she'd be fired. The company says that phones are banned during work hours, quote, "due to safety concerns within a production environment." They also say they've apologized to Teresa. But the policy is the policy.

Teresa's son is scheduled to return home next month.
