Carrie Underwood Says the People of Nashville Are Not "Scandalous" and "Backstabbing" Like in the Show "Nashville"

CARRIE UNDERWOOD lives in Nashville and she's also a fan of the show "Nashville". So "Rolling Stone" asked her if there are any similarities between the two. The answer is yes. But mostly no. Carrie said, quote, "I feel like the show represents our town really well. I love watching it because I'm like, 'I eat there.'" Then again, she hasn't witnessed any of the nastiness that probably keeps fans interested in the show. She adds, quote, "I hope people don't think all the ladies of country music are that scandalous, because I promise you we're not. "I hope people don't think it's all backstabbing and everybody sleeping with everybody else. That's really not the case, at least to my knowledge. "There might be all kinds of stuff going on that I don't know about, but not in my world. People really are pretty open and friendly and normal."

Luke Bryan Joins Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw for MDA Show of Strength Sunday.

Luke Bryan joins Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw on this Sunday's MDA Show of Strength special airing at 8 p.m. ET. The show is the new incarnation of the annual MDA Labor Day telethon, and Luke is proud to take part. He recently taped his portion of the show at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
"The MDA is just such a strong charity and such a strong organization and to be asked by them to be a part of the telethon was a no-brainer for us," Luke says. "We all grew up watching the telethon, and it’s just such an amazing charity and an amazing event." Carole King, Pitbull and Will.i.am are also on the show, and Luke hopes country fans will tune in and donate money to the fight against muscular dystrophy. He says, "I hope that my segment and country music’s segment and the whole Opry piece really helps the telethon do what it’s supposed to do –- raise a lot of money and help kids.” Check local listings to find out which channel is airing the MDA Show of Strength special in your area.

Kip Moore Performing "Beer Money" on TNT's Conan Tuesday

Kip Moore is following up his platinum-selling hit "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" with "Beer Money," which he'll perform on TNT's Conan on Tuesday night.  That particular show and its host, Conan O'Brien, mean a lot to Kip. He says, "When my sister was in her car accident and in the hospital for seven months, Conan was one of the few people who could make her smile. She thinks he is so funny, and so do I."

"Beer Money" is included on Kip's debut album, Up All Night, in stores now.

Little Big Town Did the Theme for ABC's "Good Afternoon America"

Did you catch the theme for ABC's new show "Good Afternoon America" yesterday?  Me neither.  But I plan to now . . . because it was written by none other than LITTLE BIG TOWN. The show is basically an afternoon spin-off of "Good Morning America", so as you can imagine, that's a pretty sweet gig for them. According to Little Big Town's KAREN FAIRCHILD, quote, "Sometimes you get unexpected opportunities as an artist. We loved getting the chance to write and record a song for such a cool show."
You can catch the show every day at 2:00 PM Eastern, or better yet, check it out on Thursday, August 2nd, when Little Big Town is going to perform the song "Good Afternoon" live, along with their current single "Pontoon".

Kenny Chesney Appears in New Commercial for ESPN's SportsCenter

Kenny Chesney stars in the latest commercial for ESPN's SportsCenter.  In the spot, Kenny tries to avoid ESPN anchor Steve Levy's attempts to sit with him at the "cool table" in the ESPN cafeteria.  The lighthearted commercial was filmed at ESPN's campus in Bristol, CT. Kenny really enjoyed heading back to ESPN.  He says, "I got to see a lot of the anchors I've become friends with over the years, a lot of the people who come to our shows." Kenny's Brothers of the Sun tour with Tim McGraw is certainly packing in crowds at stadiums across the country. The show played to nearly 100,000 fans over the weekend at back-to-back shows in Dallas and Kansas City. Kenny's new album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, is due out June 19, featuring his latest single, "Come Over."

Jennifer Nettles Paid Her Dues By Touring with 15 Smelly Guys.

JENNIFER NETTLES' debut as a mentor and singing partner on "Duets" is this Thursday. So naturally, it's important she compare and contrast her dues-paying days to those of today's music competition performers. She says, quote, "When I came through the system, it was very much the dues pay. I ran up the roads in a 15-passenger van with five smelly guys, and schlepped my own gear, and played smoky bars before smoking bans and laws were around. "And I was really able to cut my teeth on the stage in that way, and considered it the best way. But, what I have seen over the years is, there is wonderful talent like KELLY CLARKSON and CARRIE UNDERWOOD, and like any in-route into the industry, the cream will rise to the top. "Those who have what it takes will make it, and those who don't, won't."

Blake Shelton Watches "Say Yes to the Dress" with Miranda Lambert.

Every married man knows you have to compromise here and there if you hope to see your wife naked, here and there. But I have to admit that BLAKE SHELTON surprised me with what he admitted in "Redbook". He was talking about the little things he and Miranda do together during their valuable time at home. He said, quote, "It's the stupid things that a lot of people wouldn't think twice about that are a big deal for us. When we're home, she's very domestic, and I am too, as long as it's not deer season. (We'll be) doing laundry while watching 'Good Morning America' or 'Say Yes to the Dress', or Miranda cooking dinner for me and me telling her how good it is . . . those kinds of things are a major big deal for us."

Taylor Swift is Releasing a Live Concert DVD . . . And She'll Be on "60 Minutes"!

Now we know why TAYLOR SWIFT has been dragging a video crew around on her "Speak Now" tour. She's releasing a live CD and DVD capturing all the magic of the trek. It's going to drop November 21st. Speaking of Taylor Swift. LESLEY STAHL and the "60 Minutes" crew have been following her around for a segment that's going to air . . . eventually. I don't know when. But an educated guess would be in November, around when the DVD drops.

Blake Shelton Will Stick to Country Music After "The Voice" Goes Away.

Being on a hit TV show can put you on the pop culture map. It certainly happened to BLAKE SHELTON after just one season on "The Voice". Blake says he's enjoying the ride, but he knows exactly where you'll find him when it's over. He says, quote, "You don’t see a lot of country artists end up in pop culture, but somehow MIRANDA (LAMBERT) and I are there for a minute. "When 'The Voice' comes and goes, and Miranda and I being married are not interesting to talk about anymore, country music will still be important to me. It's the reason I moved to Nashville."

Dierks Bentley Turned Down an Offer From "The Celebrity Apprentice"

If you're looking to get behind a country star who puts music first, then send your support over to DIERKS BENTLEY. He TURNED DOWN an offer to be on "The Celebrity Apprentice" because it would get in the way of his real career. Dierks said, "I was actually asked and I considered it for a long time and I was flattered to be asked, but at the end of the day . . . it's writing songs, making records, touring is everything to me. "That's everything to me. That's the dream, and the dream takes up a lot of time. With two kids and a wife, my plate's pretty full."

Way To Go Dierks! The man has his personal priorities straight...we all should be that focused! :)

SPOILER ALERT!! --- The Voice Finale!

Last night was the season finale of "The Voice", and while it was close, Team Blake didn't come away with the win: JAVIER COLON from Team Adam beat out DIA FRAMPTON by just 2% of the vote. Dia was the last of the four finalists to perform, and she did "The House That Built Me" with MIRANDA LAMBERT. Miranda did the first verse, Dia came in on the second verse, and they owned it, you could tell from the crowd's reaction. Miranda gave Dia a big hug when they were finished and Blake was pretty emotional. He said, quote, "I was probably supposed to have something prepared to say. I know why I get so emotional around you, Dia. Watching you sing that song with my wife, it makes sense to me. You are family to me now and I love you. I really do." He also said, quote, "They are both mold breakers. There is nobody else like 'em."
