Jake Owen's Family Getting Ready to Welcome Daughter Pearl This Month!

Jake Owen and his wife Lacey will welcome their daughter Pearl into the world later this month, and Jake's parents are very excited about their first grandchild's impending arrival. Jake says, "My mom has asked me for years, 'When are you gonna get married?  When are you gonna get married?  I want grandbabies.'" Jake's grandparents are looking forward to becoming great grand-parents too. He says, "There’s a lot of cool feelings goin’ around the Owen household these days." Jake's family is happy to see him settled down with wife Lacey too. They tied the knot in May, and Jake says, "Lacey came into my life at a time when I needed it most -- and needed her the most, and thankfully she’ll be here with me ‘til my dying day." Jake is getting in a few shows this weekend on his The Summer Never Ends tour before the baby arrives. He's got a show in South Carolina and two shows in Georgia with special guests Love and Theft and Florida Georgia Line.

CMA New Artist of the Year Nominees Look Forward to Thursday Night's Ceremony.

The CMA New Artist of the Year category is of the biggest indicators of which country stars are going to be around for the long haul, and the nominees don't take that recognition lightly. Though he's just 21 years old, Hunter Hayes has been dreaming of getting this nomination for a long time now. It finally happened thanks in large part to his #1 hit "Wanted." "It's such an honor to be recognized by the family of musicians that I've grown up listening to and all these artists that I respect so much," Hunter says of his New Artist nomination. "This whole industry sort of looks at you and says, 'Yeah, here's your nomination for an award you've been wanting to achieve for a long time.'" Lee Brice is honored to be nominated for New Artist of the Year, but he won't be worried about winning the trophy on his way to the show Thursday night. Lee is taking his fiancĂ© Sarah with him to the CMA Awards this year, and the day of the event is all about getting her ready and out the door. It all starts with Sarah getting her outfit on and fixing her makeup throughout the day. Lee is there every step of the way answering every time Sarah asks him how she looks.  It continues as they make their way to the CMA Awards in the car. Lee says when they finally get out of the car on the carpet, "She's worried about getting out and tripping over her feet. So really, it's more about me just making sure Sarah's all right." Love and Theft will be attending Thursday night's CMA Awards as first-time nominees in two categories -- New Artist of the Year and Duo of the Year. They know the competition is pretty stiff in both categories, and the duo's Eric Gunderson says, "We're just excited to be in good company, and we'll see what happens." Love and Theft's nominations come after they scored their first #1 hit, "Angel Eyes," earlier this year. They've also been on the road opening for Brad Paisley and Jake Owen. "We've just worked as hard as we can this year," Eric says. "I know everybody else has too.  So, hopefully people recognize that." Brantley Gilbert and Thompson Square round out the New Artist of the Year category.

Jason Aldean's Song "1994" Is a Salute to Joe Diffie . . . and Jason is Doing a Stadium Tour Next Summer

JASON ALDEAN'S new album "Night Train" has a song called "1994" . . . but it's NOT about that particular year. It's actually a salute to one of Jason's musical heroes, JOE DIFFIE. The song name checks a bunch of Joe's hits . . . and even calls out his name repeatedly. CMT asked Joe for his take.  He said, quote, "It's really an honor. When I heard it, I was stunned. "I was like. 'You gotta be kidding me.'  It's pretty flattering they went that far with it. It's one thing to hear a song title or your name mentioned, but when it started into the 'Joe.  Joe.  Joe Diffie' part, that's cool right there." Speaking of Jason Aldean:  He's doing a huge stadium tour next summer . . . and has already announced two big dates. One is Chicago's Wrigley Field . . . and the other is Fenway Park in Boston (Pictured Above). Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will open.

You can check for updates at JasonAldean.com.

Jake Owen Doesn't Know Anything About Girls . . . And He's Getting Some Fatherhood Lessons From Tim McGraw.

JAKE OWEN and his wife Lacey Buchanan found out last week that they're going to have a baby in November. And how does Jake feel now that he knows he's going to have a daughter? He told CMT News over the weekend, quote, "I was scared at first, because I don't know anything about girls." They also asked him about how he and Lacey decided to learn whether it was a boy or a girl. But Jake said it was no big deal. Quote, "I wasn't into the surprise of it. I was already surprised when I found out she was PREGNANT." And as far as getting ready to be a dad, Jake says he has some good role models: His dad, his tour manager, his crew, and TIM MCGRAW, who he's been opening for on the 'Brothers of the Sun' tour. He said, quote, "Even doing what we do, guys out here show that it's possible to be a good dad. Tim was just outside working out, and he has his daughters right there with him. "I just have to maintain my focus. I don't want people thinking this will deter my perseverance."

Jake Owen Doesn't Think He's All That for Having Two Number One Hits

JAKE OWEN has had back-to-back number one singles with "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" . . . and "Alone With You".  That kind of success could go to his head . . . but he won't let it. Jake says, quote, "There's a number one song every single week.  So, by no means do I think that I am anything special since I've had two number ones.  I'm very thankful and grateful, and I am very blessed."

Way to go, Jake! Well put. We know that there's a lot more number one singles for Jake, thankfully he knows how to be humble and grateful for be blessed with success.

Jake Owen Got Married on the Beach Yesterday at Dawn

A couple of weeks ago JAKE OWEN clued us in that he would NOT be wearing shoes at his wedding. He wasn't goofin'. Jake married former lingerie model Lacey Buchanan in a sunrise ceremony yesterday in Vero Beach, Florida and they were both naked from the ankles down. Jake came up with the sunrise ceremony idea too. He told "People", quote, "That was my idea, because it's symbolic of the dawn of a new day and starting our new life together." For those of you who care about such things . . . Lacey wore an Amsale gown and veil, and Jake kept it simple in a white linen Armani shirt and Tommy Bahama drawstring pants. The ceremony was strictly family only. Lacey's sister Leah was her maid of honor, and Jake's twin brother Jarrod was the best man.

Jake Owen Helped Some Teenager Ask a Girl To The Prom!

JAKE OWEN used his Twitter account to help some high school kid ask a girl to the prom. On Tuesday he Tweeted, quote, "Hey @larissa_lewisss. My name is Jake. We've never met, but I have a question for you. Hope to hear from you, -J." Larissa replied that she was interested . . . so Jake wrote, quote, "@tylermiles14 wants you to go to prom w/ him. I said I'd ask u if he treated you nice." She agreed . . . writing, "Yes, of course! You can tell Tyler he has a date!"

Once again, Country Music to the rescue!! Way to go, Jake!

Jake Owen Analyzes the One-Sided Toxic Relationship in "Alone with You"

Jake Owen has scored another hit with "Alone with You," a song about a one-sided, toxic relationship. Jake sings from the perspective of a guy who is head over heels for a girl who just uses him for a quick thrill. He says, "The whole line in there that says, you know, 'I don't see you laugh, you don't call me back, I don't know your friends, I don't know where you've been, but you kiss me when you're drunk.' It's like, it's real." Jake adds, "It's sexy too, to kind of admit it and say that I can't get enough of you, but I can't be around you either." "Alone with You" is the second single from Jake's third album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, in stores now.

Jake Owen Is Having Surgery on His Broken Collarbone Today . . . So He's Postponing Shows Until Further Notice.

Despite JAKE OWEN'S promise not to cancel any shows because of his broken collarbone, he's postponing shows until further notice. But it's not something he had any control over, because his doctor decided to schedule SURGERY for TODAY! Here's Jake's Tweet from yesterday when he sensed something bad was up. He wrote, quote, "In the Dr. waiting on my sentence. You know it's not good when he comes in and says, 'That break is worse than the football teams'.'Damn." Soon after that Jake got the bad news. He Tweeted, quote, "I guess I spoke too soon. So sorry to my friends and fans. I'm going in for surgery tomorrow morning. My shows will be postponed." (--Jake's shows tomorrow and Thursday in Chicago WILL BE rescheduled . . . but it's too early to say when.)According to Jake's tour page, his next scheduled show is February 3rd in Dallas, Texas.
(--This is the downside of updating your every thought or move on Twitter and Facebook. Jake promised the whole world that, despite busting his shoulder, he would honor his tour dates. I'm pretty sure he'll think twice the next time.)

Jake Owen Busted His Collarbone Snowboarding . . . But He's Hoping to Honor His Concert Dates

JAKE OWEN broke his collarbone while snowboarding in Colorado on Friday. I'm sure he was hurting, but not bad enough to stay away from his Twitter page. That same day he Tweeted, quote, "Just broke my collarbone. Guess I charged this mountain a little too hard. Friday the 13th showed its face today." One of Jake's fans saw the post and wondered if he'd make his shows this Wednesday and Thursday in Chicago. Jake answered him pretty quickly. He wrote, quote, "If I have to sit on a stool I'll be there. I can't let y'all down." This is NOT the first time Jake broke his collarbone. He also did it when he was a wee lad. He posted that photo too, saying, quote, "Last time I broke my collarbone. That's me and my bro after I fell off my 4-wheeler. Thanks mom for dressing us alike."

Did Jake Owen Party So Hard That He Broke John Rich's Sink?

Thanks to Twitter, we know that JAKE OWEN went to a party at JOHN RICH'S house over the holidays. We also know that John thinks Jake busted up his sink while at the party and didn't own up to it. On Wednesday, John Tweeted, quote, "@jakeowen Dude! I fixed the sink you broke at the party here at the house I know you didn't mean it! Ha-haa! Come on back!" Jake responded with this denial, quote, "@johnrich ha-ha...That thing was broken already. That's what you get for that high tech fancy (crap)." John tagged that with this response, quote, "High tech faucet??? Ha-ha!"

Have you ever broken anything at someones house and didn't say anything about it? LOL!
