Zac Brown Band is keeping busy with a handful of arena dates this winter, but they're also taking some time off in the coming weeks to recharge and regroup after a very busy year so far. The guys have been touring constantly and released their new album, Uncaged, earlier this year. The band's fiddle player Jimmy De Martini tells MLive.com, "Last time we had any time off, it was to record our new album, Uncaged, but this time, we have some real time off, and I’m excited about that." The band will be back on the road again heavily in 2013, and Jimmy adds, "By March, we’ll have a whole new touring rig and production."

Zac Brown Wants to Teach His Daughters How to Can Preserves.
"Southern Living" magazine asked ZAC BROWN what he'd like to teach his daughters. And if you know Zac, you're not surprised that his answer was food related. He said, quote, "I want them to grow up canning in the kitchen with us and making preserves. To learn what it means to really fish." Zac also wants his girls to stay grounded. He added, quote, "[And] what it means to have a job. "I want to make sure they know that there's no free ride. You don't want spoiled kids in high school that end up being worthless later on. I want to teach them perspective. That's important."

New Zac Brown Band Album On The Way!
The new ZAC BROWN BAND album "Uncaged" comes out July 10th. And Zac Brown says it's going to sound different than anything they've done before.
"It's your basic country-Southern rock-bluegrass-reggae-jam record." Although he was kinda joking . . . and just trying to make the point that the band's sound is evolving. They hired a permanent percussionist to beef up their rhythm section. Quote, "It really creates a new kind of pulse within the band."
The album also has a straight-up R&B dance song called "Overnight". For that one, they brought in the New Orleans-based TROMBONE SHORTY & ORLEANS AVENUE.
And there's a point to all the changes: It's about being a more dynamic live band. Zac says, quote, "It's really about making people dance. You just don't let them go. It's about just grabbing people in that pulse and then not letting them go that entire song."

Zac Brown Knows About Getting Paid with Soggy Dollar Bills Soaked in Beer!
Unless you win a reality TV show, you have to pay your dues to get to the top and ZAC BROWN remembers those days every time ZAC BROWN BAND goes on tour. He told CMT about the days of, quote, "Playing in a bar, and then wringing the beer outta my tip money from the tip bucket. At the end of the night, people would be spilling beer and stuff into that bucket, but I didn't care. "I'd reach down and grab the one dollar bills from the bottom and shove 'em in the cargo pants I used to wear I had soggy wads of one dollar bills on me for years. And that was my gas money, and what it took to get to the next place."
This is why I like Zac Brown...he's real! So are most Country artists. They don't forget where they come from.

Zac Brown Likes to Ride a Harley Around the Parking Lot at his Concerts!
Next time you're milling about the parking lot at a ZAC BROWN BAND concert keep your eyes peeled for some dude on a Harley wearing a helmet. It's probably ZAC BROWN checking out what the real people are up to. Zac says, quote, "I absolutely love being on a motorcycle. In a helmet, nobody knows who I am. I can ride right through the tailgating with a helmet on, and it's just like you're invisible. "I can observe firsthand what's going on at our shows and at these KENNY (CHESNEY) shows and get to see it. I just get out and ride around the tailgating. There's no other way to do it."

Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band Share "Pretty Cool" Grammy!
Alan Jackson and the Zac Brown Band each won their second career Grammy for their No. 1 hit, "As She's Walking Away," on Sunday (Feb. 13) in Los Angeles. The song won for best country collaboration with vocals. Last year, the Zac Brown Band won for best new artist, while Jackson's "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" won a Grammy in 2002 for best country song. "I was real honored when Zac asked me to be on this record," Jackson said. "You know, it's pretty cool when a few of us Georgia boys can end up winning a Grammy out in L.A." Brown noted, "It was an honor to be recognized by the Recording Academy as best new artist last year, and to be able to follow that up with another win this year was just incredible. We want to thank our supportive fans, our hard working team and all the great artists who've collaborated with us, including one of our musical heroes, Alan Jackson, who we share the win for best country collaboration. We're thrilled, and we're simply going to continue making music we love
