Shania Twain opens her Still the One show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Saturday, December 1, and she's already feeling at home in Sin City. Her fellow Canadian Celine Dion was the first artist to perform at The Colosseum nearly 10 years ago, and Shania credits Celine with making the experience of performing at Caesars Palace so great for other artists. "I think everybody has learned how to make the scenario work through the experience of Celine," Shania tells the Las Vegas Sun. "I am just totally happy here. They have just done a great job of making me feel at home, and I totally do feel it already." These concerts mark Shania's return to the concert stage for the first time in nearly a decade. She has been very public about her struggle to regain her voice in the studio and on stage in the past few years. The Colosseum stage now feels like home to Shania, and these shows are a big step for her return back into the spotlight. She says, "I had to bring myself to a point where I was back on the stage again and not just in the studio, so that has been my own journey. Nobody can encourage you; you just have to do it, physically just get out there and do it." Shania is most excited about performing for her fans again, saying, "That will be what I haven’t experienced in a long time. That will probably create a lot of adrenaline."

Eric Church Is Not Afraid to Admit That His Biggest Influences Are Rock Stars Like Bob Seger, AC/DC and Black Sabbath.
I get a little annoyed when old school artists complain that country music isn't what it used to be. Of course it's not. That would be boring. So props to ERIC CHURCH for pushing the idea that change in country music is a good thing. Eric told the "Detroit News", quote, "I've always felt like evolution was a great part of the growth of country music. Yeah, I grew up on country, but I also grew up on AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera and Black Sabbath." And even though Eric has opened for a lot of big name country acts . . . like Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean, he's not afraid to admit his biggest influence as a performer was touring with BOB SEGER. Eric said, quote, "Bob came out there with sound and lights, that's it; and when he walked out there the place went (super) crazy. "It was about the music, it was about the energy in the room. Those were the loudest shows I played that year, and I played with everybody."

Luke Bryan Sees the Marketing Benefits of Being a Sex Symbol.
The ladies love LUKE BRYAN. In fact, one of them has a Tumblr page dedicated to sexy Luke pics. It even includes comments like, "Look at that cute butt. Yummy." Luke was asked how he feels about that page and the whole "sex symbol" thing. Surprisingly, he sees it more as a marketing tool. Luke says, quote, "You want women to think of you in a sexy manner. It's all part of the business. It drives ticket sales. It's all a part of it. "Women are getting more and more comfortable where they can have a little fun too. I'm happy about that. My focus is trying to make great music and putting on great shows, and whatever happens beyond that is a bonus to me." Even Luke's wife Caroline is fine with it. He adds, quote, "[She] laughs about it. She enjoys it too. She understands that it's all a part of the game."

Eric Church Connects With His Fans . . . By Screaming at Them!
If you're planning to catch an ERIC CHURCH show, I have some advice: Pay attention! Eric HATES it when audience members aren't giving him as much as he thinks they should. He says, quote, "I'll focus on a couple people in the crowd that I think have a whole lot more left to give and I'll look directly at 'em and scream at 'em and yell at 'em. I love that . . . it's a little bit like boxing. I antagonize the crowd. I do."
Eric wants everyone involved . . . even if it means his fans end up screaming back at him. He says, quote, "I enjoy kind of prowling the stage out there and kind of going at the crowd and inviting them to come back at me." By the way, this isn't some new thing Eric is doing because he's a big star who can hide behind his security lugheads. He says, quote, "It's been that way since the clubs and bars when people didn't listen to us and I DID have to go out there and yell at 'em and scream at 'em."

The Pittsburgh Steelers Gave Kenny Chesney a Six-Foot Plaque.
KENNY CHESNEY got a huge honor before taking the stage Saturday night at Heinz field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Rooney family, who own the Pittsburgh Steelers, gave him a giant cast iron Six For Six plaque. It represents Kenny selling out his sixth show at the stadium and the Steelers winning six Super Bowl championships. Kenny's a football nut so he was beyond excited. He, said, quote, "I believe this might be the best gift I've ever gotten on the road. It epitomizes all the heart and energy and passion that this crowd has, that this town has." They also gave Kenny a Steelers helmet signed by former Super Bowl MVP and Hall Of Famer FRANCO HARRIS. Picuted with Kenny is Steeler QB BEN ROETHLISBERGER!

Taylor Swift Receives "Star of Compassion" Award!
Add another award to Taylor Swift's already overloaded trophy shelf: She's been given the 2012 "Honorary Star of Compassion Award" by Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services, a non-profit group that supports disaster relief and education. Over the past few years, Taylor has raised or donated hundreds of thousands of dollars for disaster relief. In 2008, she donated all the proceeds from her merchandise sales at the CMA Music Festival to the Red Cross disaster relief fund, and that same year, she gave $100,000 to the Red Cross in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to help the victims of flooding there. After the Tennessee floods of 2010, Taylor donated $100,000 to a flood relief telethon, and donated another 100 grand later that year to rebuild a playground in Hendersonville, Tennessee, that had been damaged by the floods. Last year, she sold tickets to the dress rehearsal for her Speak Now tour and donated the money to victims of tornadoes in the U.S. Southeast. In a statement, the group's director said, "Taylor Swift has inspired the small community of Northwest Tennessee with her uplifting words and music of encouragement and has become a positive role model for the young and old alike here."

Luke Bryan Found Out That Being a Country Star Is "Just Like Any Job"
Performers are always talking about how much fun they're having. Maybe, but the smart ones know they'd better work their backsides off too. It's something LUKE BRYAN is finding out now. He tells the "The Oklahoman", quote, "You never just get idle. You just always have to be on your game and be mindful of what's going on. It's just like any job: You've gotta give it your all, day in and day out."
On a personal note: I saw Luke Bryan in concert. This man was a ball of energy and a GREAT performer. I think in general, that ALL Country artists "get it". They know times are tough and it's hard to afford concerts now. So they give every show their "all". Thank you to all Country music artists!
