Darius Rucker Accepts Invitation to Join Grand Ole Opry.

Congratulations to Darius Rucker, who accepted an invitation to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry Tuesday night. Opry member Brad Paisley surprised Darius with the invite during Tuesday night's show as part of a fake question and answer session. Brad stood up in the audience and popped the question to Darius, and he said yes to the Opry invite. Darius shed tears at the good news. He said backstage after the invite, "I was totally, totally taken by surprise today, and I’m amazed that everybody in my life knew, and they’re all here. I didn’t know any of them were here until I walked off the stage."
As for getting the invitation from his pal Brad, Darius says, "There is nobody in the business that I would have wanted to do that more than Brad Paisley. If I was to choose the person to ask me to join, it would’ve been Brad." Brad later tweeted that inviting Darius to join the Opry was one of the greatest honors of his life. He told his friend, "Welcome to your new home pal." Darius's Opry induction will air live on GAC's Noteworthy at the Opry on the night of October 16. Darius is the first African American artist to join the Opry since Charley Pride became a member in 1993.

Miranda Lambert Offers Multiple Ways for Fans to Interact with "Fastest Girl in Town" Video!

Miranda Lambert is giving fans multiple ways to interact with her hot new video, "Fastest Girl in Town," co-starring NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. First off, MirandaLambert.com/interactive  hosts a special edition of the video that allows fans to switch between different camera angles during the clip's car chase scene. Viewers can also unlock bonus content that gives them a chance to win items from the video and additional behind-the-scenes footage. Miranda has also released a new app at iTunes and Google Play featuring music videos, photos and all the latest news. It also connects with the "Fastest Girl in Town" video on Vevo. What's more, Miranda's Facebook page offers fans the opportunity to create their own version of the movie poster featured in the "Fastest Girl in Town" video and share it on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #fastestgirlintown. Photos will be collected daily with that hashtag for display on Miranda's Facebook wall. Miranda actually co-wrote "Fastest Girl in Town" with her Pistol Annies band mate Angaleena Presley. Miranda says, "It’s definitely got her Kentucky raw-girl spin on it, and it’s got my bullets flyin’ around, and there’s crime to it." Miranda hopes "Fastest Girl in Town" gives girls like her a sense of pride about being a little rowdy. "It kind of makes bein’ the fastest girl in town not a skanky thing, but a glamorous thing, and that’s what I like about it," Miranda explains. "Fastest Girl in Town" is included on Miranda's latest album, Four the Record, in stores now.

Miranda Lambert and Danica Patrick Were Fast Friends on "Fastest Girl in Town" Video Set.

Miranda Lambert recruited NASCAR driver Danica Patrick as her accomplice for the "Fastest Girl in Town" video, and the two really hit it off on the set. Danica served as the getaway driver as she and Miranda stole a vintage muscle car in the clip, and their new friendship made the shoot enjoyable.
"She was really sweet," Danica tells ESPN about Miranda. "She's got a lot of pep and a lot of spark. She and I got along. I just feel like she and I are kindred spirits, and we'd be trouble together." "Fastest Girl in Town" is the latest single from Miranda's album, Four the Record. The video premieres today.

An Off-Duty Bus Driver Caught a Seven-Year-Old Girl When She Fell Out of a Third-Story Window!

52-year-old Steve St. Bernard is a New York City bus driver who lives in Coney Island. He got home from work Monday afternoon and noticed one of his neighbors was in trouble. Seven-year-old Keyla McCree, who's autistic, had taken out the screen on her third-story window and climbed out onto the ledge. So Steve positioned himself under the window and tried to convince Keyla to go back inside. She didn't. She ended up FALLING. But Steve was in position and managed to CATCH HER right before Keyla hit the ground.  Keyla wasn't hurt at all, but Steve tore a tendon in his bicep. Thank God that Steve was there and was strong enough to save this little girls life! Steve St. Bernard, you are the "Hero Of The Day"!

Will Rhymes of the Tampa Bay Rays Passed Out After Being Hit on the Arm by a Pitch.

Tampa Bay Rays second baseman WILL RHYMES passed out last night after being hit by a pitch thrown by Boston's FRANKLIN MORALES. And here's the strange thing: Rhymes was hit on the ARM. Rhymes seemed okay at first. He even went to first base. But then he motioned to the dugout that he needed to be replaced and fell into the arms of the first base coach. The latest is that Will passed out as a result of an adrenaline rush, which is obviously good news. Here's the video...

Miranda Lambert Releases "Over You" Video This Week.

Miranda Lambert's video for "Over You" will be posted online today or tomorrow, but she's giving fans a behind the scenes look at the clip now on Vevo. Miranda hasn't made a video since "Only Prettier" about a year-and-a-half ago, so she was excited to get back in front of the camera. The "Over You" video was shot at Cedars of Lebanon State Park in Tennessee with Miranda wearing a Victorian-style dress for a late-1800s look. She also shares some screen time with a white horse and jokes that she might take him on the road for the live performance of the song. "Over You" is the second single from Miranda's latest album, Four the Record, following the top five hit "Baggage Claim." If you can't wait to stream the "Over You" video, it is now available for download at iTunes.

Utah Jazz Birthday Cake FAIL!

In case you missed it, some fans at a Utah Jazz game got a happy birthday surprise Tuesday night: And by that, I mean a sheet cake with candles was accidentally DROPPED on them from the upper deck. The team's bear mascot was standing in the front row of the second level, presenting the cake to a long-time season ticket holder. Then he tilted it so a camera could get a shot, and the cake slid off the plate and fell about 30 feet. Luckily, the people it landed on had a REALLY good sense of humor about it. They even started smearing it on each other's faces. This is priceless!!!

How Many Times Do You Think They Say, "The Force" in All Six "Star Wars" Movies Combined?

Someone who loves "Star Wars" (and has way too much time to kill...just sayin') went through all six movies and counted how many times the characters say the phrase, "the Force." It turns out, those two words are uttered 91 times. There's a minute-long montage of them on YouTube called "Star Wars: The Force Supercut." Here it is...

Two NFL Coaches Got Into a Fight After Their Post-Game Handshake!

The 49ers beat the Lions 25-19 yesterday, and immediately after the game, Niners coach JIM HARBAUGH and Lions coach JIM SCHWARTZ almost got into a FIGHT. Harbaugh was jumping up and down celebrating, and he gave Schwartz a pretty hard handshake at mid-field, and sort of dismissed him. And he also allegedly shouted a swear word. And Schwartz apparently took offense . . . because he ended up CHASING Harbaugh down the field, while the players and coaches kept them from going at it. Harbaugh tried to accept some of the blame for it, but not really. He said, quote, "I was really revved up . . . That's on me. [The] handshake was too hard." But they both definitely lost their cool. Here's the video! Check it out for yourself!

Check Out the First-Ever Pixar Movie!

The founder of Pixar is a guy named Ed Catmull. But WAY before Pixar made their modern classics, Ed was a grad student at the University of Utah studying math, physics, and computer science. While he was there, he made a cool prototype of what was to come. You can check it out, it's a computer-animated 3D rendering of Ed's left hand, and some faces. But keep in mind, it's from 1972! Almost 40 years ago!

Check Out Taylor Swift Ad-Libbing A Song She Called "Chaperone Dad".

A couple of Australian talk show hosts put TAYLOR SWIFT on the spot during a recent interview. They were ripping on the dads at Taylor's concerts who have to chaperone their daughters when they'd clearly rather be anywhere else. And Taylor, always the professional, went with it. She said, quote, "Their daughters have held up the glittery signs for the first half of the show, but then they're like, 'Dad, hold this!' "And then they’ve got glitter all over their khaki pants and plaid shirts. But they're doing the right thing!" What came next could have been a setup . . . I'm not sure, but it was pretty entertaining. The Aussie dudes started playing instruments and Taylor jumped in and improvised a song called "Chaperone Dad".

A Guy Showed Off His Jet Pack on a Morning News Show and Promptly Crashed It!

The other day, Fox 5 news in San Diego started their morning show with a live shot of some guy using a water-powered jet pack. And when he tried to take off from the harbor, he got about six inches off the ground and splashed down in the ocean. Then when they cut away, it showed the two anchors laughing. The guy was fine though, and he got the jet pack working a few seconds later.

A Veteran Who Lost His Arm in Afghanistan Caught a Foul Ball at a Yankees Game!

A National Guard vet named Michael Kacer lost his left arm in Afghanistan in 2008. But it didn't stop him from snagging a foul ball with his hat at a Yankees game on Friday. And it wasn't an easy catch either: He had to lean over a railing to get it. In an interview afterwards he said, quote, "Either I was going to catch the ball, I was going to catch the ball AND go over the railing, or I was going to miss the ball COMPLETELY and go over the railing." After the catch, he immediately gave the ball to his nephew. Click The Link Below To View The Catch!

Great Catch!
