It's been a great year for beer songs, so Taste of Country decided to do a poll. They asked fans to vote for their favorite song of 2012 that has the word beer in the title. They came up with five. Here they are, in no particular order . . .

Taylor Swift is the Country Artist with the Most Twitter Followers. But You Probably Can't Guess Who's Number Two.

The website MusicRow.com keeps track of how many Twitter followers each country star has. It's an exhaustive list that goes all the way to 100. It's no surprise that TAYLOR SWIFT is #1 with over 18 million followers. No one else is even close. But I was blown away when I saw DOLLY PARTON coming in second with a little over two million followers. Not disappointed, just surprised. I thought it would be Twitter addict BLAKE SHELTON  . . . who is third with a little under than two million. But I AM calling foul on #4, JENNETTE MCCURDY. Yes, she released a country album . . . but she's only ranked that high because she plays Sam on Nickelodeon's "iCarly", starring MIRANDA COSGROVE. Anyway, here is your Top 10:

The new thing on Facebook is people looking up the song that was number one the week they were born, then posting the video on their Facebook wall.
Even if you're too cool to participate in Facebook trends, it actually IS interesting to find out what your "Birth Song" is. To find your song, go to Wikipedia and look up 'List of number-one hits.' Then select United States, click on your birth year, and find the week you were born. Then prepare to feel old.

"A Christmas Story" is Our Favorite Holiday Movie and "The Grinch" is Our Favorite Holiday Special.

Harris Interactive just conducted a huge holiday poll. Here are some of the results:
Favorite Christmas Movie: "A Christmas Story" . . . but not by much. 20% of people chose that one, while 19% went with "It's A Wonderful Life", which NBC is airing on Christmas Eve this year. TBS will have your hookup for "A Christmas Story". Favorite Christmas Special: "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". This is the animated version, not the JIM CARREY movie. It was chosen by 23% of respondents. This was another close one. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" got 22%. Sadly, I must report that there was very little love for my personal favorite, "The Year Without a Santa Claus". It finished in 5th place with only 3% of the vote. Have you no love for Heat Miser and Snow Miser? The Holiday Song People Most Look Forward to Hearing is "White Christmas". Followed by "Silent Night" and "Oh Holy Night". The Holiday Song People Want to Go Away is "Jingle Bells". Followed by "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". No percentages were given for the songs.

More Than Half of Adults Think a Ten-Minute Outdoor Recess at Work Would Be a Good Idea.

If you got to run around outside for a few minutes every day, maybe swing on some monkey bars or throw around a football would it make you a better worker? An outdoor footwear company called KEEN surveyed full-time American workers to find ways they could improve productivity. The answer: Recess.

53% of the workers surveyed thought that taking a 10-minute outdoor recess each day would make them happier, healthier and more productive. Two in five workers thought it would be a good way to reduce workplace stress. One in three thought it would make them more productive all day long. Nearly three in four workers said they'd never had a recess break at work. (--Where do the other one in four work?) Despite the fact that 53% thought it was a good idea, only 44% of workers say they'd actually TAKE RECESS if their company offered it. Women and young employees were most likely to say they'd take a recess.

The Month You're Born in Makes a Huge Impact on Your Future Career!

A new study out of England found that the MONTH when someone is born makes a big impact on their future career. It's hard to figure out the science behind it. There are theories about things like the amount of sunlight pregnant women are exposed to, or the allergies children are more prone to in different seasons. But no one's really sure. All they know is that data has shown people born in certain months end up in certain careers more often. For what it's worth, here are the findings . . .

JANUARY. Lots of doctors and debt collectors, fewer real estate agents.

FEBRUARY. Lots of artists and traffic cops, fewer physicists. Also, people born in February are most prone to narcolepsy.(???)

MARCH. Lots of pilots and musicians.

APRIL. The only career that's overrepresented in April over time is dictators. (???) People born in April are also more likely to have lower-than-average IQs, and more health problems.

MAY. Lots of politicians, fewer pro athletes.

JUNE. Lots of CEOs. Also high on Nobel Prize winners.

JULY. Lots of manual laborers and artists.

AUGUST. Lots of manual laborers and high-ranking politicians.

SEPTEMBER. Lots of people in academia and sports.

OCTOBER. Lots of politicians. People in October are also most likely to live the longest.

NOVEMBER. Lots of serial killers. Also, people born in November are most prone to bipolar disorder.

DECEMBER. Lots of dentists. Also lots of religious and secular MESSIAHS everyone from JESUS to STALIN and MAO.

CMT.com is going to air a show called "What's Your 20? 20 Greatest Men, 20 Years". It'll rank the Top 20 male country artists of the past two decades. They've already chosen the 20 artists, but they're counting on YOU to select the order in which they'll finish. The show airs August 10th on CMT, obviously. It features interviews from several of the finalists like Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean and Keith Urban. Plus a few females, like Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Taylor Swift.

Believe It Or Not, Texting While Driving is Twice as Dangerous as Drinking and Driving!

The whole "texting while driving will kill you" message still hasn't landed, so let's throw out another INSANE statistic to see if this one sinks in. According to a study by Virginia Tech University, texting while driving increases your chance of having an accident by 23 TIMES. In comparison, drinking and driving increases your chance by 11 TIMES. Which isn't to say you should choose drinking and driving over texting and driving, you should choose neither. But for all the hype that drunk driving gets, texting and driving is more than TWICE as dangerous.

The Les Paul Guitar on Google Cost the World $268 Million in Lost Productivity!

In case you missed it, last Thursday and Friday, Google changed the logo on its homepage to look like a LES PAUL guitar, in honor of Les Paul's birthday. And you could actually use your mouse to strum the guitar and record songs. Well, people LOVED it. And according to a technology consulting company, it cost the world $268 MILLION in lost productivity. That's a rough estimate based on Google's finding that the average person spent an extra 26 seconds on their homepage when the guitar was up and there were 740 million visits to the page over the two days.

Here Are the Fifteen TV Dads People Want as Their Father.

Just in time for Father's Day, the people at Harris Interactive surveyed more than 2,000 American adults and asked them which TV dads they would have wanted as THEIR dad growing up. The winner in a landslide was BILL COSBY as Cliff Huxtable on "The Cosby Show". It's gotta be the sweaters. He was number one for both men and women, and across all age groups, all races, and all political affiliations. This is the second time that Harris has run this survey. The first time was in 2009 and the result was the exact same!
