Trace Adkins Traveling on USO Tour
Trace Adkins is currently traveling on a nine-day USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour of the Middle East. This is his third USO tour. So far, Adkins has visited more than 6,000 troops overseas with stops in Camp Arifjan in Kuwait and Contigency Operating Base Basra in Iraq. He will complete his tour with a concert for soldiers and their families at Fort Benning, Ga., on Friday (Nov. 5) to welcome home more than 4,500 soldiers of the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division who recently completed a year-long deployment in Iraq. "Traveling on USO tours and visiting our nation's troops has been awe-inspiring and even overwhelming at times," says Adkins. "Whether I'm walking around a post shaking hands and signing autographs or performing for troops, I am always aware I am in the presence of heroes, and the courage and determination that those men and women show is humbling. It's an honor to get to do that, and I will always jump at the chance to do it for years to come." (THANKS TO CMT.COM)
