China and the U.S. Were Tied at 23 Medals Each After Yesterday's Events.



The United States won six new medals on Tuesday. That ties us with China in the overall medal count . . . but we still trail them in Gold medals by four. Here's the overall medal count:

#1.)  China with 23 medals - 13 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze.

#2.)  United States with 23 medals - 9 Gold, 8 Silver, and 6 Bronze.

#3.)  Japan with 13 medals - 1 Gold, 4 Silver, and 8 Bronze.

#4.)  France with 11 medals - 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze.

#5.)  South Korea with 8 medals - 3 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze.
